Unfortunately, all sign up spots are currently filled. The best way to get a journal is by contacting someone who has one.
Do this by finding a journal (preferably a "non sign up journal", which are usually #1-700 and don't have a
bunch of people in line for them) and contacting whomever had it last. Please don't pester people who've
stated that they no longer have the journal.
They are all out, sorry.
The project consists of 1000 journals (the real, physical kind). The first 700 or so were sent to folks
who asked, to travel at random throughout the world. More recently, a sign up function was added,
to allow more people to participate. These last journals are more controlled, and are sent from person
to person on the sign up list. People are allowed to add whatever they like to the journals, writing,
painting, scraps of food. (food might actually be a bad idea... due to international customs regulations).
Well, I don't expect them all to return, in fact, if 50 come back it would be amazing.
I'd like to put them in a traveling exhibit, where more people can see them, and even continue
adding to them. If that goes well, I may try to put together a compilation book.
All the cover slots have been taken.
Email me, and I'll arrange to have them skipped. You'll send the journal to the person after them in line.
Absolutely. This isn't a unique idea, but what you do with it will be... Send us a note and lets us know how your
version of the project is going...
Spread the word, stick some stickers, let people know about the project. Participate. Have fun. Start painting
again. or writing. Be creative.
Just 1. But that's a start.
999 journals are in circulation right now.
Go to the locations section, and browse by country, or state. Chances are, a journal has been to your area, but may not be
there anymore.
We are not for sale.
No.
My fascination with what people write on bathroom walls evolved into this project. It's similar, except in book format, and it travels...
This project is based on the goodwill of it's participants. They will only come back, if somewhere down the line, a person gets one,
decides it's full, and emails us to return it. That alone is the biggest part of the experiment, and the biggest risk. Perhaps none will
return. Only time will tell.
